Don’t have much to tell you here because my every attempt to do anything ended with getting stabbed.

Stabbing in progress

Make a run for the front door? Got stabbed.

Creep over to a vent and unscrew it, thinking I might crawl through? Stabbed again.

Flee into a room and shut the door with a sigh of relief? Stabbed.

Flashlight on? Flashlight off? Stabbed either way.

Try to sneak down an empty hallway? You guessed it.

I know the feeling

I never did figure out how not to get stabbed all the time. There’s no way to heal; and since there’s no save system either, every fatal stabbing means you have to start all over from the beginning. That’s a poor design choice in a game that seems to require a lot of trial and error. It’s a shame, because they set up a pretty creepy scenario and I wanted to keep exploring the house and find out what was going on.

Looked promising at the start, too

Even though, like Concluse, this one didn’t quite pan out, I still think these guys are on to something. I hope they keep making games. They’re not afraid to take chances with the concepts and presentation. It’s like watching the early stages of an experiment taking shape before all the bugs have been worked out. If they keep playing around with horror games I feel like they’re going to get it eventually.

Until they do, prepare to get stabbed a lot.

The Bottom Line:
